MP CEO ASSURE LA COMMUNAUTÉ DES DONATEURS DE LA MISE EN ŒUVRE DU PVD À 100%

Le Dr Amadou Ibra Niang, CEO de Millennium Promise (MP) a assuré aux promoteurs du PVD, que les investissements réalisés dans tous les domaines seront mis en œuvre à la lettre et dans l'intérêt des bénéficiaires ciblés, conformément au programme des ODD pour 2030.

Le Dr Niang a fait cette déclaration vendredi au siège de MP à Dakar, lors d’une visite de courtoisie de M. Papa Meissa Diop, Chef de projet du Programme Village Durables (PVD) dans la Commune de Banko en Guinée.

M. Diop a exprimé sa satisfaction quant à « l’excellent » taux de mise en œuvre du programme dans la commune de Banko, dans la province centrale de la Guinée.

« Nous pouvons nous vanter d'avoir mis en œuvre un programme à 100% et en particulier dans le domaine de la santé, de l'éducation et des facilités de crédit agricole », a déclaré M. Diop au Dr Niang.

Dans un bref échange avec le Dr. Niang, M. Diop a regretté que seul le projet d'électrification soit légèrement en retard, qu'il a attribué aux préparatifs en cours pour installer les membres du conseil municipal local de Banko.

Expert en développement communautaire M. Diop a précédemment occupé le poste de chef de projet au siège de MP à Dakar et travaille depuis sa création en 2006.

Il a incité le PDG de MP à renforcer les contacts avec les dirigeants politiques en Guinée et en particulier dans la Commune de Banko en vue d'accroître la visibilité du projet SDP.

Pour plus de visibilité M. Diop a recommandé la production de plus de matériel de communication, y compris des brochures et autres documents pouvant aider à attirer l'attention et l'engagement des autorités politiques sur le projet.

La commune de Banko bénéficie depuis 2015, d’un financement de 12 millions de dollars américains octroyé par la collaboration de MP, du Gouvernement de la Guinée, de la Banque Islamique de Développement et le Fonds de Solidarité pour le développement. Ces bailleurs clés procèdent ensemble à la mise en œuvre du projet.

M. Diop a plaidé pour que le projet soit prolongé sur deux ans pour plus d’impacts efficaces sur la communauté bénéficiaire. Environ 28 708 habitants, dont 3 217 ménages de la commune centrale (781,17 km2) qui bénéficient du projet.

Le PVD note-t-on, capitalise sur des outils pratiques, des technologies avancées et des stratégies communautaires éprouvées pour accélérer la réalisation du développement durable dans les zones rurales d'Afrique subsaharienne grâce à la mise en œuvre de plans de développement locaux basés sur les ODD.

MP’S CEO ASSURES DONOR COMMUNITY OF 100% PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION

MP’s CEO, Dr. Amadou Ibra Niang, has assured the project sponsors that investment made in every domain will be implemented to the letter and in the interest of targeted beneficiaries in line with the 2030 SDG agenda to end extreme poverty.

Dr. Niang made the statement on Friday in the MP headoffice in Dakar during a courtesy call on him by Mr. Papa Meissa Diop, the Project Manager of the Commune of Banko’s Sustainable Districts Program (SDP) in Guinea.

Earlier, Mr. Diop expressed satisfaction over the « excellent » rate of program implementation in the Commune of Banko in Guinea’s central province.

« We can boast of a 100 percent program implementation and especially in the domain of health, education and agricultural credit facility » Mr. Diop told Dr. Niang.

In a brief exchange with Dr. Niang, Mr. Diop expressed regrets that only the electrification project was slightly lagging behind which he attributed to the ongoing preparations to install the Banko local municipal council members.

Mr. Diop is a community development expert who formerly served as project manager at the MP headquarter in Dakar and has been working with MP since its inception in 2006.

He enticed the MP CEO to increase contacts with the political leadership in Guinea and particularly in the Commune of Banko with the view to step up the visibility of the SDP project.

He recommended the production of more communication and visibility materials including brochures and other hand outs that could help attract the attention and engagement of the political authorities to the project.

MP, the Government of Guinea, the Islamic Development Bank and the Islamic Solidarity Funds for Development are sponsoring and implementing a 12 million US-dollar project in the Commune of Banko that started in 2015.

Mr. Diop hinted that the project could be extended by another two years to allow a more effective and far-reaching impacts to the beneficiary community.

About 28,708 inhabitants comprising of 3, 217 households of Guinea’s central commune of Banko who are residing on an area of 781.17 square kilometers are benefitting from the SDP project.
