
Dakar, Senegal, February 09, 2018 - On Thursday, February 8, 2018, Dr. Amadou I. Niang, CEO of Millennium Promise and Professor Lamine Gueye, Rector of Alioune Diop University of Bambey (UADB), visited M. Mouhamadou Moustapha Ndao, governor of the Diourbel region.
This visit was the first step in the development of an SDG-based territorial information system for localizing the SDGs at the sub-national level, using Diourbel as a pilot region.
The Governor welcomed the initiative and expressed his willingness to contribute to the implementation of the project, the results of which will be highly profitable for the Diourbel region.
Mr. Mouhamadou Moustapha Ndao has promised "to personally mobilize all the resources available to him so that the project proceeds under ideal conditions and achieve its objectives".

The governor also confirmed that a meeting of all the regional leaders would be organized as soon as possible to discuss the arrangements to be made.
As a reminder, the Alioune Diop University of Bambey and Millennium Promise intend to expand their partnership to all key development actors working on the implementation of the SDGs at the territorial level.
